clectric.diy is a space for experimentation, learning, and sharing—with a growing library of notes, prototypes, & ideas—always in progress. We’re here to help you build the sounds you imagine.
While our version of many of these projects are available for purchase at store.clectric.diy, our primary goal is to provide you with the information that you need to create your version.

We have designed cases, “caps”, racks, and other ways to mount modules for the AE Modular format. They are available in our AE-Cases Repository.
-
We are collecting breakout boards, protoboards, dev boards, and other things in our Charge Repository to help you start your own journey into the world of Synth DIY.
// Resources in Development
We’re developing two open hardware audio synthesizer modules for the AE Modular format:
-
The Spark is a, Daisy Seed based, rack mountable clone of the Electrosmith Daisy Pod.
-
The Nexus is a, Microchip ATmega (Arduino) based, 8x8 Crosspoint Switch module for an AE Modular rack.
Firmware for these modules are developed and maintained in our FLUX repository. These allow you to completely change the functionality these modules.
If you dig deep enough, you’ll find various other project ideas and maybe some Easter Eggs. Repos are easy to create, so we stub them in if we come up with an idea that we may want to explore later.
// Ethos
While we make and sell products, all of our work here is open source. If you’re interested in making your own version, please do. If you’re intrested in buying a finished product, please visit: store.clectric.diy
Whenever possible, we use open source software to ensure that there’s a low barrier to entry for new folks starting up and because it’s often one of the best tools available. KiCad is a good example.
// Other Things
We offer a list of resources that you may find useful.
If you’re stuck, you may consider this.
// TL;DR
Join in and have some fun.
